HEY
THERE
You’re Frazzled Type 1 – New business owner overwhelmed by all the options.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Starting a business is exciting and can be a bit of a roller coaster ride. I’d love to hop in and join you for the ride.
First thing I want to say is that you are in the experimental phase of business. This stage is going to be full of trying new things and finding out what works. It’s important to know that things will go wrong and that’s all part of the fun!
I’d also like to invite you to think of your business as having 3 departments. I know this might sound a bit bonkers when it’s probably just you on your own but bear with me.
Even a small, part time business needs to carry out 3 different types of activities. They are:

Marketing is all about letting your customers know you are there. Tech can really help with this.

This is the bit I’m expecting you to be the expert on but I’ve still got a few tips up my sleeve to make it easier for you.

This department includes finance, IT, HR, Data Protection and Health & Safety and more!
In a one person business you are not only the CEO but also the tea maker and in charge of all the areas above and making sure you give each area dedicated time each week is key to a successful business, I can help with this down the line but for now I except you need to put the majority of your energies into Client Attraction.
There are 5 key tasks you need to complete:
Get some simple branding
Colours, fonts, logo. I’ve got articles that can help with all of these areas.
Choose a domain
This is your internet address and should match your business name to make it easy for people to find you. You can get more info here.
Get a simple website up
This can be super quick and cheap. I have a free training on this.
Start collecting email addresses
Your email list can be the most valuable asset in your business. Start before you are ready! My Email Marketing Sorted programme covers this.
Choose a social media platform
Start sharing useful content. I’m not a social media expert but choosing a social platform and showing up regularly is a great way to get visibility.
Once you have these 5 steps in place then you can give some focus to the “behind the scences” department of your business and my upcoming SORTED! course can help you get everything in place.
